Create Seeds

January 30th, 2010 by TirNua Audrey Leave a comment Share on Facebook

Turn your garden flowers into seeds with the new Thresher Machine

Now there is a way to extract seeds from your garden flowers and sell them. Just drop them into the Thresher Machine and out will come some new seeds. With more than 50 different variations of hybrid garden plants available, and more on the way, you can now collect the seeds for all of them and open up your very own garden store!

The amount of seeds you produce will depend on the health of the flower and your green thumb score. The healthier your plant and the higher your green thumb score is, the more seeds you will reap! The thresher will also place the resulting fiber in the closest fiber bin on your lot or in your inventory. Dead or still growing plants will not produce any seeds but you will still get the fiber out of them.

If there is no seed bag under the spout one will be created for you. If there is one there it needs to be an empty bag or one that already contains the same seeds as the plant you are threshing.

Player Fruit Cart for the Farmers’ Market

For the second phase of three phases for the Farmers’ Market feature, purchase your own Fruit Cart to place on your lot and start selling your fruit in bulk. Crates of fruit with 8 pieces of fruit per crate can be sold at a time. You can find the Fruit Carts in the Food Store - you will need to purchase one for each different kind of fruit, including the rare oranges, that you plan to sell.

Repo’d Lot, Lot Name and Persona Name Leases

January 27th, 2010 by TirNua Audrey Leave a comment Share on Facebook

Repo’d Leases - when the lease term on your lot, lot address name or persona name has expired, you will receive a series of email notifications informing you that your lot, lot name or persona name lease is about to expire and be repossessed. If you do nothing, the¬†object will be repo’d.

To renew your lease, simply place the lot deed, lot name or persona name plate on your lot and select the ‘renew’ interaction when clicking on the object. You will be given the option to renew for 3, 6, or 12 months for lot leases, or 6 or 12 months for lot and persona names.

What happens if your lot deed has been repossessed? You will have a 60 day grace period to renew it. To do this, go to the ‘My Stuff’ tab and select the ‘Renewals’ sub-tab. Here you will find your expired deed. You can choose to renew the lease or abandon the lease. If you choose to abandon the lease, the deed and lot will be deleted and any objects on the lot will be returned to the respective owners. After the grace period has expired, the deed and the lot will be deleted and any objects on the lot will be returned to the respective owners of those objects.

What happens if your lot or persona name expires? The name will immediately become available for others to purchase. There is no grace period for lot and persona names. So be sure to renew if you want to hang on to them!

To purchase a Lot Name or Persona Name - select ‘Tirnua Names’ under Popular Searches on the Shopping Panel. Select the item desired under the Search Results. Click on the item and search for the desired name from the popup dialog box. You will be informed as to whether the name is available or not. If available the dialog box will display the lease price and give you the option to purchase a 6 or 12 month lease term.

To apply a Persona Name - go to the Dress Me tab. Under the Dress Me window look for ‘Name:’, you should see your current name here. From the drop down list below you name, select the new name to apply it.

To apply a Lot Name - from the lot to be re-named, select the lot info button. From the popup dialog box select the ‘Rename’ button. A list of your lot names will be provided to choose from. Select the one desired and then select the ‘Set Lot Name’ dialog button to apply it.

Take your fruit to the Farmers’ Market and sell it to TirNua!

Check out TirNua’s Farmers’ Market by clicking on the image or link above.
Once you are there, drag a fruit crate from your inventory and place it on top of the fruit cart. Then all you need to do is click on the fruit crate and select the ’sell’ interaction.

You can easily find the TirNua Farmers’ Market anytime by looking under Popular Searches on the World Map.

Gladiolus to Grow in your Garden - along with the geraniums, you can grow gladiolus. You will find 6 color variations to buy in the flower store.

Cross-breeding and Hybridization has Arrived for your Garden Plants. As with the potted flowers, the new geranium and gladiolus garden flowers can reproduce and be cross-bred to create hybrids. Successfully harvesting your flowers will cause them to reproduce. The plants need to be close enough for pollination to occur.

Key to Note: A successful harvest can only occur if you are in close proximity of another flower plant that is fully grown, otherwise the harvest fails and your flower will die.

For more help see our in-game Help Panel and look for the help topics on Growing Flowers and Growing a Garden Plot.

Lily Flower - we have added a new potted flower to grow and harvest.

You will only be able to find this flower in the VIP Store (requires a Resident Badge) or from some Player Stores.

    Other Stuff

  • Another Tuning Pass on the Treadmills - based on your player feedback we took another tuning pass on this and included the Rare Treadmills.
  • Persona Web - shows resident active days
  • Wall and Floor Editing improvements were made

Buy Bulk Fruit from other Players

January 16th, 2010 by TirNua Audrey Leave a comment Share on Facebook

Fruit can be picked and extracted from fruit stands and stored on fruit crates on a wooden pallet just like recycling components do when an item is recycled.

Fruit is extracted into each crate 8 at a time. The entire pallet of fruit can then be ’set for sale’ (via the recycle mode ).

This is the first step towards enabling more creative uses for our fruit.

This week we have added More Geraniums for you to grow in your new Garden Plot. You now have the choice to sow geraniums in 6 color variations. You can find the geranium seeds in the ‘Gardening Store’ on the Shopping Panel or in-game by selecting the ‘Sow’ interaction on the garden plot you want to grow the plant on. From here, you will be prompted to purchase the seeds from the popup dialog messages.

After we introduced the geranium last week, we noticed that some folks were not aware that these flowers are fully grown in 10 minutes and unfortunately some perished.

We decided to add a visual cue to make it easier to tell when the flowers need their next watering. In the picture above, notice the water puddles under the pink and scarlet red flowers. These puddles will show up after watering your plant and disappear when the plant is ready for the next watering. How cool is that? When the plant is fully-grown (your last watering), the puddle will disappear after 3 minutes. The important thing to note is that if you see water - don’t water again!

Another pass at the Chat, Visitors and Inventory floating panels - we updated the new icons from last week to make them more noticeable.

We added a ‘drag handle’ that appears when you mouse over any of the panels (see red arrow in image below). Selecting the drag handle allows you move the panel to any location on the screen.

Other changes to the Floating Panels:

  • You can drag items to the inventory panel even when it is minimized.
  • Panels remember min/max state when switching back to the homeviewer from another panel (such as the shopping panel).
  • Tuning Pass & Failure Help on Biofuel, Boiler and Treadmill - you will notice some increase in the status updates for charging batteries and failure help will be displayed in order to help you know what went wrong.

Improved Quest System - lots of work has been put in over the past few weeks to update the quest system to reflect new features and changes made since we first introduced the system. We believe our efforts have made it more user friendly. We plan to continue to work on this. Please encourage new users to complete the quests. Not only will it help them learn how to play TirNua but they will reap many rewards from it.

January 9th, 2010 by TirNua Audrey Leave a comment Share on Facebook

Not only can you grow a plant in just 5 minutes, this plant grows in the ground! This opens the door to our design concept of having living gardens in TirNua. It’s only the beginning and we know you can imagine the endless possibilities.

To get started growing your garden plot, you will need some geranium seeds, a plot of ground and of course a watering well if you don’t already have one. All of these items are available in the ‘Gardening Store‘ from the Shopping Panel.

The Chat, Visitors and Inventory panels are now floating panels.

You can minimize, resize and move these panels, and the settings will be saved to your User Preferences.

You can reset the sizes and positions of the panels by navigating to the Private Info panel and clicking the Reset User Preferences button.

Now Free Lots can be re-sized into larger lots just like purchased lots.
    Here’s how:

    1. Enter your Lot and click the Lot Information button
    2. At the Lot Information dialog, click the Edit… button at right of the Size display
    3. At the Change Lot Size dialog, select a new Lot size. The maximum Lot size is 20 x 24
    4. Lot Upgrade Cost is: ( the current price of the new larger sized deed ) - ( the current price of the current deed ). Plus tax: The tax on the Lot Upgrade amount above.

Lower Stipend on Resident Badges - we have lowered the stipend amount received for new badges. If you bought a badge prior to January 4th, you locked in the monthly stipend rate of 9890. From now through February 15th, when you purchase a resident badge you will lock in the new monthly stipend rate of 8900. After that it will be reduced again so get in on bargain and purchase one now!
