Strawberries and Orchids are growing in TirNua.

February 25th, 2010 by TirNua Dominic Leave a comment Share on Facebook

You have heard right! this week we added Strawberries and Orchids. Not only we have added a new fun thing to grow in TirNua , we have also started to improve the look of our flowers. The new Orchids appear to be much sharper and nicer then ever before. We will be updating many more flowers and items in TirNua with our new and improved look.

You can easily grow the Strawberries just like a Gladiolus or Geranium. All you need is water, a piece of earth and of course one bag of strawberries seeds.

Along with the strawberries we have also added a new fruit stand so that you can sell your delicious fruit. Yum!

Tip of the day:
If you pick strawberries they will be automatically added to the strawberry depot. If you wish to transfer them to your strawberry fruit stand , you can do so by clicking on the strawberry fruit-stand and choose ” add crate “.

We also have made a big change to our Trees in TirNua. The time it takes to pick a fruit from a tree ( Orange, apple and banana trees ) now depends on what zone you are in.

The normal delay is 20 minutes, if your lot is in a farm zone it will only be 3 minutes. Move your lot to an orchard zone to reduce the delay to only 20 seconds. I can see the moving trucks rolling already!

Tweet , Tweet, Twitter time. Send your in-game feeds to twitter and spread the word of your TirNuan life.

Some small fixes we have been working on this week:

  • You will notice some Ui changes all over the game.
  • We have fixed the custom content floor tiles pricing error some players were experience.
  • Some design changes to the sewing-machine which was not using any fabrics and the Kiln that was missing a texture,

Let the fun begin!

Dominic and the TirNua team.

Spring is here and so are the Daffodils!

February 23rd, 2010 by TirNua Audrey Leave a comment Share on Facebook

We had so much good stuff in our update last week, we totally forgot to mention that Spring Daffodils are sprouting up all over Tirnua! We are betting many of you have already discovered this.

Start growing yours now in TirNua

Three seed variations are available in the Gardening Store. Upon a successful harvest (two plants need to be 100% fully grown) you have a good chance of creating a hybrid variation like the one on the left seen in the picture above. Note: the flower you select to harvest will be replaced with the new flower (hopefully, a hybrid!).

Here’s how:

  • Purchase a Radio Tower from the Entertainment Store
  • Select the ‘Set Information’ interaction on the Radio Tower, then select ‘Set URL’ to enter the Station Stream URL, ‘Set Name’ to name your Station and ‘Set Broadcast Level’ to enter the broadcast strength or essentially the approximate units of electricity that will be consumed per day.
  • Once the information setup is complete, select the ‘Set Broadcast On’ interaction. You can turn off the broadcast at anytime. Players can make donations to help support your broadcasting.

How do you find Radio Stations in your area?
Look for stations that are being broadcast in your area, by selecting the ‘Tune Station’ interaction on your radio dial. A scan interaction has been added. When this is selected, you will be provided with a list of radio stations in your area to choose from.

If you don’t own a radio or would like to buy the newly released ‘Deluxe Radio’ model - you can find them in the Entertainment Store.

    Zoning and Lot Categories

We are trying to make the idea of map zones and lot categories more prominent in the game. The key concept of residing in the various zones is the benefits you will receive for doing so. Right now it seems only the most savvy are aware that growing trees is easier if you own a lot in the Orchard Zone.

This week we’ve added the starts for this with some new thumbnails alongside your existing lot thumbnails in the homeviewer panel: if you don’t already own a lot in a given zone, you’ll be able to get one of the sizes and terrains available directly from the homeviewer panel. So far, we have the following zones: Farm (for flowers), Orchard (for trees), Store (less tax), Kitchen (more nutritional food), Factory (manufacturing friendly), Casino (higher payout odds), Game (TBD) and Mansion (TBD). Leave any lot you are in and click around on these new buttons for more info about each.

There is more to come with Zoning and Lot Categories and so we look forward to your input on this feature. Specifically, we could use your ideas for the last two zones: Game (puzzles etc.) and Mansion. What are the possible benefits for residing in these zones? Please let us know.

Are you wondering how you can move one of your lots to another zone? Tirnua Magic Moving Truck Purchase a moving truck from the Miscellaneous Store and double click anywhere on the map. It is as simple as that. For more how to information refer to: Lots - Buying and Moving on the Help Panel.

New Waterwell with permissions added. If you would like to get rid of those pesty players who water your garden for you or if you are tired of hiding your waterwell so it is unaccessible then you will want to purchase the Waterwell with the Lockable Cover. You will be able to set persmissions as to who is allowed to use the waterwell.

Rain Barrel - place this on your lot to collect rain. When the rain barrel has water in it and you water your plants and flowers, your persona will get water from either the rain barrel or the water well, whichever is closer. The rain barrel will run dry after awhile and it will collect some amount of rain almost daily. It will fill up between 1-8 waterings on rainy days (rain days = 50% winter, 30% fall/spring, 20% summer and it goes by the real calendar and USA seasons).

    Other Stuff

  • Okay, we brought back a way to jump between your lots from the homeviewer. Yay! When you select the leave lot button, you will see a drop down lists of the lots you own or of which you are a roommate to.
  • The Apple, Orange and Banana Trees have grooming and death attributes like the plants and flowers do. All legacy trees have an infinite life span and all new trees harvested will eventually die. The life spans are as follow: Banana trees - 40 to 80 day, Apple trees 90 to 180 and Orange trees 120 -140. Remember, grooming and high green thumb scores will extend the life of your trees. Grooming can only happen with the tree is sick.
  • Contact Support Persona Interaction - now there is a new way to contact TirNua for general support a.k.a. an quicker way to get our attention.
  • Don’t forget to check out the VIP Store for the hot deals of the week (it’s ok to do so now)!

    Happy Roasting!

Love, Love, Love…it’s all about the Love & Coffee of course

February 11th, 2010 by TirNua Audrey Leave a comment Share on Facebook

Share the love and gift these items to your fellow TirNuans from the Gift Store Panel.

    We have coffee trees!

Coffee trees grow just like regular garden plants except they take a little longer and will produce coffee beans that you can pick!

You can grow a Coffee tree in about 5 hours or faster if you use Fertilizer or Super Grow. Once full grown the tree will immediately begin flowering and over the next couple of days it will produce Coffee beans that you can then pick. As long as you keep your tree healthy you will be able to pick beans from it about every 5 days until it gets old and dies.

Note that if you miss watering your plant and it gets dried out when it should be fruiting you will not get any beans that cycle. As the tree gets old and starts to approach the end of it’s life expectancy it will begin to die and it will no longer produce fruit. If someone with a high enough Green Thumb Score grooms the plant at this time it will be rejuvenated and it’s life expectancy and fruit bearing days will be extended.

Another Flower for your Garden - Daffodils for the Spring! Along with the geraniums and gladiolus, daffodils are now available to grow in your garden.

Potted flowers now age and die just like in real life too. Last week, Garden Plants started to age and grooming was introduced. This week, all new or newly harvested Potted Flowers take on the same characteristics. In other words, old legacy potted flowers will not have aging and dying and will not need grooming. They have an infinite life span. However if you harvest one from a legacy one, the new harvested plant will.

What you need to know about Grooming your Potted Flower Plants

    1. When they get old and start to die you will see them beginning to wither. They will turn brown as they die during the last 20% of their life span.
    2. Just like in real life you can now take care of your plants to extend their life expectancy. You will discover a new ‘Groom’ option on garden plants’ interaction menu. As long as a plant is full grown you can ‘Groom’ it.
    3. Grooming will improve the health of your plant so that when you over water or miss a watering it will not be as likely to die. And if you Groom when a plant is old and dying it will extend the life of the plant.
    4. It is important to have a good Green Thumb score. If you have a very low Green Thumb Score, Grooming will not have a very big impact. TirNuans with high Green Thumb scores make very good plant Groomers and can extend the life of their plants as much as 4 times their natural life span with multiple Groomings.
    5. The different breeds of potted plants have different life expectancies. You can see the Health, Age, and Life Expectancy of plants in the Check Vitals dialog.
    6. Grooming requires a Mental Value of at least 15 and will increase your Mental Capacity while decreasing your Mental Value.

    Other Stuff

    1. We have made more UI improvements at the top bar level in order to provide more room on the screen for gameplay
    2. Language and Persona combos are in the new My Stuff / Preferences panel now
    3. The link to facebook button moved to the Private Info panel
    4. Potted plants no longer die when over watered - they simply lose one life and go dormant
    5. Garden plants can now be fertilized and use super grow just like the potted plants can
    6. All plants are easier to grow - when under watered, the next watering will make them grow
    7. Generic seed bags are now tradable

Don’t forget to check out the VIP Store for the hot deals of the week (and yes, it is updated right NOW)!

Gift your TirNuan Sweethearts and a new Vignette!

February 4th, 2010 by TirNua Audrey Leave a comment Share on Facebook

St. Valentine’s Day Holiday Store Collection in Shopping Panel

In preparations for the upcoming holiday, we have started a Valentine’s Day Holiday Collection. Look for more items coming next week. You can also find these items in the Gift Store so you can gift all of your TirNuan sweethearts out there!

We are pleased to bring back some of our Valentine’s Objects from last year. Better grab them while you can because they will only be offered for a limited time.

Let’s Get Social - Do you have an admirer in Tirnua? Are you an admirer of someone? Send them a Vignette from the Gift Store.
In timing with the Holiday, we would like to re-introduce Vignettes to you. Vignettes are fun interactive gifts that you can send to someone. When a player receives one, they place the item on their lot and click on the interaction. They are swept away to a place where the interaction plays out and your personal message to them is revealed. The owner of the Vignettes is only one who see the interaction and it can be played over and over again.

Last year we brought you the “Friendly Kiss”, “Sweet Kiss”, “Hug” and “Dip Kiss” Vignettes. This week we have added a new one, “Spank Me” which plays the “I’ve Been Bad” interaction. Look for this cute bear object in the Gift Store and surprise a fellow TirNuan with this unforgettable Vignette gift.

Garden flowers now age and die just like in real life

What you need to know about Grooming

    1. When they get old and start to die you will see them beginning to wither. And just like in real life you can now take care of your plants to extend their life expectancy. You will discover a new ‘Groom’ option on garden plants’ interaction menu. As long as a plant is full grown you can ‘Groom’ it.
    2. Grooming will improve the health of your plant so that when you over water or miss a watering it will not be as likely to die. And if you Groom when a plant is old and dying it will extend the life of the plant.
    3. It is important to have a good Green Thumb score. If you have a very low Green Thumb Score, Grooming will not have a very big impact. TirNuans with high Green Thumb scores make very good plant Groomers and can extend the life of their plants as much as 4 times their natural life span with multiple Groomings.
    4. The current set of garden plants, Geraniums and Gladiolus, have a life expectancy of approximately 2 weeks. You can see the Health, Age, and Life Expectancy of plants in the Check Vitals dialog.
    5. Grooming requires a Mental Value of at least 15 and will increase your Mental Capacity while decreasing your Mental Value.

    New Fruit Cart Drop On

When the Fruit Cart Drop On is placed on a lot, it allows another player to place their fruit cart on it. Look for it in the Miscellaneous Store under the Functional tab.

    Fruit Cart Updates

    1. Buy fruit functionality has been added. Players, like the Tirnua carts, can now purchase fruit with their cart (up to max… each cart currently holds 50 crates).
    2. To use the cart to buy fruit, you must add money to the cart. The cart will purchase fruit from players as long as there is room and there is enough funds.
    3. Sell fruit now places the money into the cart rather than going directly to the own.
    4. Confirmation dialogs will be displayed on buy and sell.
    5. Check, add, withdraw funds actions have been added to the fruit cart.

Thresher Object Update- the Thresher object now allows other players to use your Thresher. All they need to do is supply their own plants and seed bags.

Don’t forget to check out the VIP Store for the hot deals of the week!

Lastly, for those of our players who remember that our weekly publishes were usually on Wednesdays, we are planning on resuming that schedule.
