Custom Content is big news in Tirnua!

November 8th, 2009 by Tirnua Luc Leave a comment Share on Facebook

In just a few hours, thousands of new clothes have been created by Tirnua designers in the game.

Finally, the 3D avatars are brought to full value in our game.

Tie dye, Sportswear,Lace are suddenly appearing in the game on our residents.

The templates are available in this wiki page written by Sarah. Please add your examples there, and help new users discover this great tool.

Creating custom content is as easy as editing a bitmap and selecting which clothes you want to see it on.

Please join us this week end, and start adding your own designs to the game.

Some of our users have started dedicated stores for custom content, so even if you do not feel like creating your own custom content, every day you can find a new appearance in the game.

Here are some of the first uploads you made last night:

This is going to be a really exciting week,

Luc

DOING THE CUSTOM CLOTHING IS FUN, I NEED MORE PRACTICE AT IT. I AM HOPING THAT MAYBE WE CAN DO CLOTHING FOR OTHER GENDERS ALSO. THE WAY IT IS SET UP IS THAT WE CAN ONLY DO OUR OWN GENDER.

    MEN CAN ONLY DO MEN
    WOMEN CAN ONLY DO WOMEN.

I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO MAKE CLOTHING FOR BOTH GENDERS IF I PLAN ON HAVING A CLOTHING STORE.

  2. Qute Pi Says:

I agree with Fugly, I can’t make mens clothing…not fair. lol.
BUT I do like how I can see what I’m uploading on my avatar before I do! TY!

  3. CherryBomb_2700 Says:

Nice tool, guys; very simple. Watch out Ed Hardy, here we come!

  4. Raisin Says:

Yep it’s a great tool, really well made in my opinion - simple for everyone to use.

If the “pull” on the female T-shirt is corrected (see bug forum) it would be even better.

The price of the uploaded things is a little unbalanced imo:
It costs 700 + 377 + 377 and so on. That means that nobody can afford to buy the finished creations from the store.
    (700+377+377)/3 = 485 and with Tirnua’s tax = 523, and that’s if the designer makes _no_profit_at_all_.

If I spend say 3 hours fiddling with the clothes I don’t want to sell it for “free” either, which means I would want to charge at least 50-75 tau extra per item. I don’t wanna just slap a pattern on it and call it mine, I wanna sit there for hours designing bow ties and suspenders and whatever. And who is gonna buy a shirt they can’t see what it looks like before they buy it, for over 600 tau?
Nobody in today’s economy has that kind of cash, nobody.

(If I close my eyes and pretend I didn’t pay the upload fee it will be 377 + 75 + tax = 489 tau each)

It would be so much more fun if people could actually buy the clothes too. :)

I don’t think anyone would have bought your cool new halloween clothes if they had cost 500 a piece either.

Maybe this situation will be remedied when residents get bigger discounts in their stores. I wish the cost per item for the creator would be much lower and I’m really not prepared to order like 25 of each item to make it cheaper, there are like 25 residents max in the game, and I want to make A LOT OF DIFFERENT clothes and not just try to sell everyone the one item I have made huge amounts of.

Hope this doesn’t sound whiny, I haven’t had my morning coffee yet. ;)
Overall I really love this feature!
And I want to edit the meshes, too.
And I want some way for the buyer to “try it on” before they buy.

For those of you who can’t make the other gender clothes, here is an idea ^_^
Create a new acct, make one Tirnuan one gender the 2nd tirnuan the other :D

    Just a thought ;) LOL

  6. Atlas Says:

Woo, my purple pants and orange/purple shirt made it onto the list! :’D

I totally ADORE this feature, but as Raisin said… WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO MAKE A PROFIT!!!
Gah, I understand you guys need to be able to make a profit as well, but in order for there to be an actual in-game economy formed (that is, the investment of TAU purchases pays off, the TAU floats into the game economy, more TAU is generated, and a pool of TAU is around that is bought, created, traded, etc. … MEANING NO NEED TO CONSTANTLY BUY TAU EVERY OTHER UPDATE!!), we need to make a profit too! D’:

That’s probably the most lacking thing in Tirnua at the moment - a functioning economy. Can’t we meet somewhere in the middle, O Lovely Devs? :)

Regardless, lovely update, and I adore you guys so much for making the process so SIMPLE! It’s easy as pie, and anyone can make clothes!
Like Raisin said, I’d love to be able to create our own meshes. Perhaps we could sell the meshes to other users, too, who are keen on expanding their clothing variety? That way there’s no overwhelming database full of everyone’s meshes; instead, you have to purchase a mesh in order to use it in your designs! I like that idea, personally.

If you guys just gave us a mesh-creating option, you’d hardly have to make clothing updates ever again! This way we could keep the fashion sense and the trends all to ourselves, and create a fashion-forward world led by its users, which is what it’s all about!

  7. Avyi Says:

Nicely Put Raisin and Atlas :)

  8. Qute Pi Says:

Are we gonna get long skirts and maybe dresses? Long sleeve shirts? More types coming soon?

  9. Saniel Says:

    I can’t afford it so I don’t care! :D

  10. Atlas Says:

    I hope, Qute. :P
Like I said earlier, all they really have to do now is just throw some meshes at us! We can do all of the fancywork.

  11. Groovybear Says:

Play some dice with me Saniel, you will have the money in no time
