Valentine’s Deco Contest

February 13th, 2014 by TirNua Anna Leave a comment Share on Facebook

As you guessed from yesterday’s blog post, it’s time to start decorating for Valentine’s Day!

All you need to do to enter this contest, is to decorate a lot in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, take a snapshot of it and post the picture on our Facebook page.

The prizes are the Gold and Silver heart trophies!

Everyone who participates in the contest, will get the Silver trophy - unless you are one of the five lucky winners who get the Gold one!

What do I need to do?

  • Decorate a lot in the spirit of Valentine’s Day
  • Take a screenshot of it
  • Post the picture on our Facebook page
  • Include the name of the lot (or a link to visit it) so we know who the picture is from and can go look!
  • How are the winners picked?

We will count the number of “Likes” your pictures get. The 10 pictures with the most likes on February 21st, 2014 will be in the running to win.

Out of those 10, the team will pick out the final 5 winners.

You do not have to be a TirNua player in order to vote. You can share your favorite pictures and invite your friends to vote. It helps spread the word about the game and you can get more votes from doing it too, of course.

    FAQ

What does it mean that the lot should be decorated in the spirit of Valentine’s day?

    - It should show that it’s a Valentine’s day lot. Use some Valentine’s day objects or in some other way bring Valentine’s day to mind. You can use custom walls and floors if you like - you can use any size lot. You can take a picture of the whole lot or just a part of it.

What if I’m unable to post the picture myself?

    - It’s okay to ask a friend to post it for you.

How many pictures can I post?

    - Only one picture per person.
    - You are not allowed to use alt personas or accounts to participate more than once.

Can I work together with a friend?

    - Theoretically you can work together, but only one of you can win the prize. If nothing else is stated the prize will go to the lot owner.

How do I take a screenshot?

    - See http://www.take-a-screenshot.org/

    Where do I post it?

    - Post on www.facebook.com/TirNua

When do I have to post it, and when are the votes tallied?

    - Voting can start as soon as you add the picture
    - We will check the votes close to midnight of 21 February 2014, no more votes will be counted, and the work to determine the final five winners will begin.

For general rules that apply to all our contests see the contest information in the help section. We can change or amend these rules if we find there is a need to do so.

Good luck - have fun! :)

Badges, Gardening and new Lot Highscores!

August 7th, 2013 by TirNua Anna Leave a comment Share on Facebook

We know you’ve been waiting impatiently for a new update - here it is! :)
These four flowerpots are now available in the Gardening store and Featured store - and they will give you access to a grand total of 27 new pots if you scan them and print with your 3D printers.

Buy one of each, pop them in your 3D scanner and try your luck printing them. Here is a preview of just some of all the new flower pots you can print!

Huge garden urns in gold, silver, bronze and marble - these work for all ground plants except the strawberries, corn, daffodils and such bigger plants. The Gold one is the rarest one and it might take you a while to get them all!

Just a few of the round pots - you can print a total of 10 different pots from the striped round pot we released earlier. The ones pictured here are the Terracotta, Aged Terracotta, Blue Porcelain and Bamboo pots. See which other pots you can discover by printing the pot and trying for a rare!

Note: These pots used to be unscannable and have now been updated. That means you may need to purchase a new updated striped pot to be able to scan it.

It doesn’t end here, there are also 10 cool square pots to try for. You start from the Yellow square pot. This picture only shows one of the cylindrical ones but there are a total of 4 to try for, starting from the Terracotta.

We also have a bunch of new badges you can start working on! There are badges for each of the new pots that have been released.

Good luck and have fun printing!

Work in progress: New lot scores!

The perceptive among you have already noticed there is a new lot highscore in the works! We are still testing and working out the details of this, so there will be more information about it later. Can you already figure out what the score does?

Have fun printing and gardening and keep an eye out for further changes to the lot scores! :)

    Indoor Gardening and Scarecrow Zero

June 12th, 2013 by TirNua Anna Leave a comment Share on Facebook

Calling all decorators out there. :)

You can now grow ground flowers in these decorative striped pots!
Nothing like a pot of fresh flowers from the garden to brighten up your room. You can even replant coffee trees in these and grow them inside.

To use this: Grow the flowers on regular dirt and move them into the pots by dragging and dropping.

The pots work for most of the ground flowers - orchid, gladiolus, geranium, coffee, all the decorative bushes and so on. There are some that we haven’t enabled due to the size, for example

  • Strawberries
  • Corn
  • Daffodils
  • So for those plants you will still need to grow them outside on regular plots.

Avoid dragging the flower pots over each other when there is a flower already inside. If you have done that and re-enter the lot, the flower can drop down a notch. Just move the pot and it will correct itself and stay that way.

Here it is - the Scarecrow Zero!

Birds only fall on polluted lots, and as you know you can attract even more dirty birds to your polluted lot with the Luxury Feeder. We decided to go ahead and make a Scarecrow Zero too.

If your lot is polluted but you still don’t want to slip on those rubber gloves and get down to business cleaning the gulls, you can get this super efficient scarecrow to scare them off to go bother some neighbor instead.

The regular versions of these are still available too, if you just want to increase or decrease the number of birds you get. The feeders and scarecrows are not needed on clean lots as those are naturally bird free.

    Enjoy :)

Login to grab your free Maple Tree!

June 4th, 2013 by TirNua Anna Leave a comment Share on Facebook

We have a login gift for everyone who logs into TirNua this week! You get a free Maple Tree seed. :)

    Grow it up and enjoy!

The free seed is given out as a login gift during June 3rd - June 9th. Make sure you log in and grab yours!

To grow up the maple tree, place a soil plot on the ground and sow the seeds just like you would with a ground flower. The tree allows you to place items or walk under its branches. It can’t be placed right next to the edge of the lot as it needs some room to grow.

    New badge

The Earth Day 40th anniversary badge has been discontinued, but we have added a new badge to grow up the maple tree itself.

    Garden Stake

There is also a new Maple tree garden stake for the organized gardener!

    More Maples in the Store

If you miss the opportunity or would like more seeds they are also for sale in the Featured store.

    Other fixes and changes

  • Open lots search improved
  • Added new badges for Weekly bird cleaning champion and top ten
  • Discontinued badges for Juice bar Quick Solver
  • Bird cleaning scores get incremented after the bird has been cleaned
  • Lobby no longer hard coded to show up at the top of open lots
  • More changes to quests

  • Happy growing!

First Weekly Score Winner - Dean!

June 1st, 2013 by TirNua Anna Leave a comment Share on Facebook

Yesterday a week had gone by since we introduced the new weekly scores. There has been massive activity all week with players competing to get on that list - some players have spent up to 18 hours a day cleaning birds! We love the positive response to the new scores.

We are happy to announce our first winner - Dean!

The competition was fierce. When there were about 3 hours left, Dean had to leave and Sami was very close (a little over 300 birds behind). But Dean prevailed and when the first scores were tallied he was crowned our first Weekly Bird Cleaning Champion.

Dean cleaned close to 4500 birds in a week!
A very close second was Sami with 4176 and Justin with 2673 birds. Mandi K and Wennie were not far behind. Well done everyone!

Tau rewards were given out accordingly (see last week’s blog).
We also updated the game with two new badges just in time for the count and reset of the scores. There are badges for Champion and Top 10.

    Interview with the First Winner

After all this effort we interviewed Dean so here’s his five minutes of super fame. :)

Congrats on being the first person to win the Weekly bird leaderboards!
    What was your winning strategy?

    - To sit on a bird lot and let it fill up with birds, then clean like mad and repeat.

How did you get all the birds you needed?

    - Sit on a lot that I own till it was full, plus hit all bird lots i could find!

We noticed you were cleaning together with your competitors over at Mandi’s place - that’s pretty cool instead of everyone sitting on their own lots cleaning. Why did you end up going to the same lot to clean the birds?

    - It makes it more enjoyable to clean together even when we were all going for the same price.

What do you think about the bird cleaning scores, did it make the game more fun? Do you enjoy there being a competitive part to the game?

    - The scores are fun and it was enjoyable competitive game, would like to see it stay and have others added in the future.

What other weekly scores would you like to see, besides the bird cleaning?

    - Maybe a rare tree score, potted plant, or a treadmill score.

What are you going to do with the grand prize of 500 tau? Let me guess, cat food? :)

    - For this week ya cat food lol

What keeps you coming back to play TirNua - what’s your favorite part of the game?

    - Friends around the world keeps me coming back, friends and competing for number 1.

Finally … Did you burn out or are you going to keep cleaning birds next week? ;)

    - No, I’m not burned out - I’ll still keep cleaning when I can. Going to be hard these next two weeks… I have finals.

Congrats again Dean and everyone else who got on the list this week! Sound off in the comments if you have suggestions or feedback on the scores, or want to give Dean a shout out! :)

Weekly scores - Ready, Set, Go!

May 24th, 2013 by TirNua Anna Leave a comment Share on Facebook

We have just pushed another big change to the game!
A few days ago we turned the bird cleaner into a money object and you now get tau for every bird you clean. Today we are pushing weekly scores!

The weekly scores are an experiment. We are testing it to monitor how it pans out.
If it’s popular and working well other scores could be added too - if not, there is a possibility it can be removed too.

The weekly Bird Cleaning scores work like this:
The 100 people who have cleaned the most birds in one week, will get on the list.

The measured time runs for one week up until Thursday 7 pm PST the next week (or Friday 2 am GMT). The score goes offline and the results are tallied. If you are cleaning birds right around 7 pm, you should stop for 5-10 minutes or your birds may not be counted for either week for as long as the score is offline.

If you are on the list, you will get a feed letting you know, and you will also get an ingame email about it.

If you would like to brag about it, you can send it to Facebook from your Persona Web Feeds page - go ahead, rub it in! :)

In addition to the bragging rights, there is a TAU reward for getting on the Weekly list too!

The TAU paid out will be

    1st place –> 500 tau!
    2nd –> 250 tau
    3rd –> 150 tau
    4th –> 100 tau
    5th –> 80 tau
    6th –> 70 tau
    7th –> 60 tau
    8th –> 50 tau
    9th –> 40 tau
    10th –> 30 tau
    25th - 11th –> 20 tau
    26th - 50th –> 10 tau
    51st - 100th place –> 5 tau

Please note that there is also an overall score and that does not pay out tau. Only the weekly scores do that.

We hope you will enjoy this experiment and let us know your views!

Who will be number one the very first week of this score?
    Ready … Set … Go! :)

    We Have a Money Object!

May 21st, 2013 by TirNua Anna Leave a comment Share on Facebook

TirNua has a new way to earn money - we have changed the bird cleaning station so it is now a money object. For every bird that you clean, the cleaning station pays you in cold hard cash!

Gather up with your friends and help clean up the birds and the dirty lots!

This is a work in progress again and you are likely to see more changes to this feature later on. Start your own cleaning lot or join and help others clean theirs - either way you are bound to have a good time chatting and earning some tau.

    Let’s clean! :)

Bird Shortage? We have the answer!

If you are running out of birds to clean, grab a Luxury Bird Feeder - this new object will attract the birds to your dirty lot faster than the regular bird bath. It comes pre-filled with delicious bird seeds.

    Newbie Towers

The wind picked up and blew all the pollution out of Newbie Towers. Now our new players can breathe again - but who knows how long this blissful state of events will last? We bet it won’t take long until some die hard industrialists are firing up their boilers around the area again.

In TirNua your actions determine how the environment will look - you can either pollute it or help clean it up. When it’s dirty you can clean it or just grab a moving truck and go where the grass is greener…

    Other fixes and changes

    • You can now load your printer directly from the Metal Megabins, and metal that you recycle will go to your bin
    • Small Basic window graphic glitch has been fixed
    • TirNuans are now sitting in a less creative way in the Basic Armchair
    • Fix to new player feeds and other changes to new player experience

There are lots of works in progress now too - more info soon.

    Have fun everyone! :)

    Working Counters and Rock Gardens

May 7th, 2013 by TirNua Anna Leave a comment Share on Facebook

New this week - you can now drop items onto surfaces in the game!

This new feature opens up a lot of possibilities for new objects. We have started by enabling the kitchen counters.

This feature is still a work in progress. This week the items you can drop are the kettle, plates and decorative cat statue that are printable from Mystery Box 3.

    New Mystery Boxes

There are also two new Mystery Boxes stuffed full of new items!

Mystery Box 2 - Rock Garden

Mystery Box 2 allows you to print rare items for a Rock Garden. You can create your own natural garden with water features, torches, bench and rocks to sit around on.

Three of these items are animated - the Grand Prize in this Mystery Box is of course the huge 3×2 animated fountain. Finding this will be quite rare, so if you manage to find one it will make a nice centerpiece for your lot!

The Rock stream is animated and lets you build pretty gardens with water running through. There are animated torches you can use to build a really creative lot as well.

The stone squares can be used to look like small bridges over the running water - place them inbetween the streams and you can walk across them. You can even plant flowers “on” them (you will still need a soil plot for the flower, but once you have grown the flower you can move it to the same spot as the rocks to create a different looking garden).

These are all printable from Mystery Box 2, and we have included the Rock Torch in the “Print Super Mystery Boxes” badge, and the Rock Fountain in a new badge that also comes out this week.

Mystery Box 3 - Kitchen Countertop items

The third Mystery Box will let you print the new items to be placed on our existing kitchen counters!

This box contains blueprints for 3 different items.

The “Print Mystery Boxes” badge has been updated to sense if you manage to print the cat statuette. That is the rarest item from the third mystery box.

    Enjoy!
